Job Responsibilities:
- – HVAC Installation Lead & Duct Fabricator (Install Lead) will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the successful completion of branch residential and light commercial installation projects.
- – Will be responsible for reviewing project budgets, labor estimates, scopes of work, pictures and material requisition sheets to ensure all questions are answered prior to an installation being performed.
- – Will be responsible for maintaining communication with Comfort Advisor(s), tracking and scheduling installations to be performed by the branch.
- – Will be responsible for working with Purchasing Agent, Comfort Advisors and Branch Manager to track and maintain adequate install truck and warehouse inventory levels of standard installation parts, materials and supplies.
- – Will be responsible for reviewing upcoming projects, receiving deliveries, checking in and staging materials and equipment for upcoming jobs.
- – Will be responsible for assisting with the loading, unloading and delivering new and demolition, removal and disposal of existing residential equipment from project job sites.
- – Will be responsible for taking all measurements, performing calculations, laying out, templating, cutting and assembling sheet metal adapters, offsets, transitions, plenums and drops for HVAC installations, replacements and cut-ins.
- – Will be responsible for leading new equipment start-up procedures and performing QC checks at the completion of each installation.
- – Will be expected to have considerable experience and comfort working on a variety of HVAC equipment, projects and tasks, including but not limited to:
- – Furnaces, Air Conditioners, Heat Pumps, Mini-Splits, Boilers, Fuel Oil, Geothermal and Fireplaces.
- – Ductwork, Condensate Drains, Hydronic Piping, Venting, Refrigerant Piping, Gas Piping and Insulation.
- – Line and Low Voltage Wiring, controls and programming.
- – Other job/field related tasks as required: brazing, threading pipe, soldering and welding.
- – Will primarily lead a crew of 2 and therefore must get along well with others, but will occasionally be required to work on their own and must be capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- – May occasionally be asked to cross-train or lend assistance to the HVAC Service and Plumbing departments as work requires.
- – Will be required to attend (in person or virtually) and participate in weekly installation scheduling meetings on Thursdays.
Qualifications:
- – Normal working hours are 7 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday. All shifts begin and end at Comfort Control Wellington (615 S. Main Street, Wellington, OH 44090).
- – 5+ years or demonstrated competency as an experienced HVAC installer and/or sheet metal fabricator is required.
- – Candidates with EPA 608 or NATE Certification or any other industry recognized credentials are preferred, but not required.
- – Candidate must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean/insurable driving record, be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- – Qualified Candidates will be expected to;
- – Be familiar with tools and equipment found in an HVAC Sheet Metal Shop (shears, brake, rollers, Pittsburgh machine, templates, rollers, etc.)
- – Possess their own hand tools necessary to complete daily tasks. (i.e. sheet metal tools, cordless drill, meter, etc.)
- – Be comfortable working on ladders, lifts and scaffolding and in dirty/tight spaces such as crawl spaces and attics.
- – Be competent with the preparation, testing and start-up of new HVAC equipment.
- – Be comfortable interacting with customers in their homes and places of work.
- – Maintain a clean, professional appearance and manners at all times.
- – Follow all established and normal safety precautions while on the job.
- – Oversee, assist and train less experienced crew members as work allows.
- – Perform physical activities and occasionally lift items up to 80 lbs.
- – Will be expected to be present and on-time for scheduled work days and times.
- -Will report to and take direction from the branch manager and follow all established company policies and procedures
- – Candidates must possess their own hand tools (wrenches, nut drivers, sheet metal tools) and cordless tool set (drill, Sawzall, etc.). Company provides full sheet metal shop, corded tools, press tools, vacuum pump, scales and torches.
